There are so many habits you can adopt to help you achieve your fitness goals more efficiently. In order to attain & maintain a lean, muscular physique, you must be consistent. Here are 3 simple things you can start doing tomorrow.
Skip breakfast. I’ve written plenty on this. There are many people beginning to utilize the beneficial effects of intermittent fasting to enhance their gains & recovery, including professional athletes & actors. Consistently restricting your time-window of consuming calories to 6-8 hours gives your body the time & energy it needs to properly absorb what it needs & expel what it doesn’t. Thus, your body becomes accustomed to building & maintaining muscle mass while using fat as a primary fuel source.
Fasted jumprope. Long cardio sessions have not been shown to efficiently burn fat without burning muscle. The most efficient cardio is HIIT (High intensity interval training). In my opinion, the jumprope is an easy, efficient & low impact way to get that high intensity workout. You can quickly change pace from sprint to casual skipping, it’s extremely simple & portable, & it improves your overall footwork & athleticism. Also, you don’t have to do it that long! I have designed jump rope workouts that can take you no more than 10 minutes. Jump rope while fasting in the morning for best results.
Drink tons of water & green tea. When you are well hydrated, your body is simply better. Everything runs smoother. The better hydrated you are, the less likely your body is to retain water, which can give a bloated appearance. I personally love to drink lots of water in the morning, while fasted. I like to drink a large volume of water at once, rather than spread my water drinking over a long period of time. This way, my body is efficiently able to absorb what it needs & use the rest to expel what it doesn’t. If you’re drinking too much water all day, this can confuse the body & trick it into retaining too much. Green tea boosts your metabolism & mobilizes fat for energy use. It also contains L-Theanine, which has a calming effect. This is important for staying shredded because if you are in a stressful state, your body will be geared toward storing more fat.
